Are you having nightmare about DSE that keep you awake at night, if yes, then this foundation course is just right for you. This course will not only help you overcome the fear of DSE but it will also improve your language skill and help you to understand the different text-types and themes. The teachers will guide the students so they could grasp the reading and writing skills necessary for the public examination. Students will be given personal feedback about their progress towards the end of the course.
Students will also:
- Learn more about the themes for the DSE and related vocabulary
- Learn how to extract explicit information to distinguishing between facts and opinions
- Learn about common grammatical mistakes and how to avoid them
- Learn different writing styles and their main components
- Work on pronunciation, intonation and word stress

DSE (Intensive Course on Reading, Listening and Writing)
This course aims to provide a platform for S6 students to polish their exam skills over the summer holidays. They will be learning different skills and strategies that will help them to overcome the fear of DSE. Our experienced teachers will guide and practise different types of exam tasks from Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3.Students will also gain experience in skills like scanning for information and inferring the writer’s attitude. Teachers will also give personalized feedback on their work.
Our summer course will help you to:
- Understand and tackle referencing questions in the reading paper
- Learn how to use connectives to improve your writing
- Enhance your vocabulary bank for the writing and listening paper
- Develop listening and note taking skills for the integrated paper
- Receive personal feedback on your progress on Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3
